The sport of Scent Work truly highlights the joy dogs find in using their noses. It transforms their natural sniffing behavior into a structured and enjoyable activity, making it a rewarding game for them.

It’s about creating positive experiences and challenging your dog’s mind in a healthy way. By focusing on these goals, you and your dog can enjoy a fulfilling and dynamic activity that caters to their natural instincts and enhances their overall well-being.
Class Details:
• Duration: 55 min per session
• Frequency: Weekly
• Class Dates: 4 sessions: 2026 (5/6 5/13 5/20 5/27)
• Class Time: 4pm-4:55 pm
• Price: $195 for 4 classes- Includes supplies that are handed out on first class
• Class Size: Limited to 4 students
Class Format:
Dogs will work individually or 2 at a time. When dogs aren’t working, they can be in a crate or with the handler on a leash. At the first class, students will be given items to get started for the first two weeks of class as well as odor for the dogs to find. At that time, students will also be given a list of optional regular household items to collect for the rest of class.
Prerequisites:
• Dog must be at least 6 months of age
• Be comfortable being in the same room as other dogs and people
•Be willing to eat treats/cookies for rewards
• Be Up to date on Rabies, Distemper Parvo, and Bordetella Vaccines.
• No children under 14 are allowed at classes. If under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Disclaimer:
This is not an appropriate class for dogs with previous aggression towards dogs or other people. If dogs are muzzled, trained to wear muzzle, and can work around and eat around other dogs, they can be accepted in the group classes.
About the Trainer:
Chris got her first competition dog in 2003 and was instantly hooked on dog sports. She has played agility, hunting, scent work, tracking, obedience, rally….and basically any thing she can get her hands on with her dogs. Prior to falling in love with dog sports, Chris’s professional career involved public health and teaching business owners how to handle food safely and keep their customers safe. Today Chris shares her home with 5 creatures - 4 goldens and 1 husband. They can often be found out eating or training in the middle Tennessee area. Chris will be instructing the Beginner and Intermediate scent work classes at Triple Star Stables.
Terms & Conditions – Basic Obedience Training Class
1. Registration & Payment
• Full payment is due at the time of registration to reserve your spot.
• Payments are non-refundable unless the class is canceled by us.
2. Attendance & Scheduling
• Classes start and end on time. Please arrive a few minutes early.
• Missed classes cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
3. Dog Health & Safety
• All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella recommended).
• Dogs showing signs of illness (coughing, vomiting, diarrhea) should not attend class.
4. Handler Responsibility
• Handlers are responsible for their dog’s behavior and must keep their dog leashed at all times.
Children 14+ are welcome in the class but must be accompanied by an adult 18+ years of age.
5. Liability Waiver
• Participation in dog training is at your own risk.
• By enrolling, you agree that Triple Star Stables and its instructors are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage to you, your dog, or your property.
6. Training Tools & Homework
• Approved collars, leashes, and treats are required. (No retractable leashes, please.)
• Success depends on practice outside of class — homework will be assigned to do at home.
7. Photography/Media (Optional)
• We may take photos or videos during class for training or promotional purposes. Please let us know if you prefer not to be included.
